Central Publicity Affairs Secretary of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Professor Md. Tasnim Alam has issued the following statement on 26 November 2018 protesting and denouncing the intentional propaganda of Bengali daily Janakantha.

A smear campaign and intentional propaganda has been carried out in a baseless and false report, published in Daily Janakantha today. The entire report is fictitious.

Responding to such report I want to reaffirm that Jamaat has no connection with Pakistani intelligence agency ISI or any other militant organization. So, it is nothing but sheer lies as the report claimed that a meeting has been held between Jamaat leader Barrister Abdur Razzaq and Tareq Rahman or any such decision has been taken for assisting ISI or to indulge the Indian separationists against their authorities. This intentional information has been brought in forth just to tarnish the good image of Jamaat-e-Islami. The countrymen do not believe such baseless and fictitious report at all.

Therefore, I am urging the authorities of Daily Janakantha to be refrained from publishing such false news in the upcoming days.
