Bengali Daily Jugantor in today’s edition has published a report on the recent comment of Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Mr. Harsh Vardhan Shringla regarding Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami.
Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following statement on 21 November 2018 about the issue.
“The comment of Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Mr. Harsh Vardhan Shringla regarding Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has drawn our attention. We do not want to believe that the honorable High Commissioner of neighboring country India has made any such comment. But if he really said so, it would be regrettable. His comment would be similar to interfering the politics, internal issues and the upcoming national election of Bangladesh. We are sincerely protesting such attitude.
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami is a systematic, democratic and independent organization. Like all other political parties, it has all the rights to take decision on making political intimacy.
However, at the last end of his views, Mr. Shringla left the issue upon the people of Bangladesh. We are also confident about the fellow countrymen and leaving the issue upon the people and their considerations. We will continue our effort to defend the justified rights of the people. We will remain firm against all the ill-initiatives to seize and confiscate the people’s rights as well.
