Central Publicity Affairs Secretary of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Professor Md. Tasnim Alam has issued the following statement on 9 November 2018 protesting and gainsaying the false report of Bengali Daily Jugantor titled “জঙ্গীবাদে জামায়াতের কৃষিবিদ ব্লক” (‘Jamaat’s agriculturist forum behind militancy’).

The report of Daily Jugantor revealed some information about Jamaat’s involvement in financing militancy which is totally baseless and false. I am vehemently protesting and condemning the report.

This report has referred 3 NGOs which are functioning as per its plan and regulations. So, as the report claimed that Jamaat used the money of those NGOs to launch violence and subversive activities are totally false. Jamaat sincerely hates militancy and extremism. Jamaat’s stance in this regard is clear to the countrymen.

The report also claimed that these NGO’s are implementing Jamaat’s agenda which is also hilarious and irrelevant. The Daily Jugantor has published these irrelevant and concocted information just to damage the image of Jamaat-e-Islami. But the countrymen would not be confused by such wrong information. They do not believe the false claims of the report of Daily Jugantor.

In this backdrop, I am urging the authorities of Daily Jugantor to be refrained from publishing such false report in future.
