Nayeb-e-Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former member of the Parliament Professor Mia Ghulam Parwar has issued the following statement on 27 October 2018 protesting and condemning 5 false cases which have been filed against the founder of Gonoshasthaya Kendra and its trustee Dr. Zafrullah Chowdhury and the consequent attack, looting and vandalism of the government backed hooligans in the Gonoshastha Kendra Hospital and their ill-efforts to seize the entire institution. 

The government indulged its goons to attack Gonoshasthaya Kendra as they failed to tackle Dr. Zafrullah Chowdhury politically. I am severely condemning the incident.

The staffs and officials including the doctors and nurses are really frightened in the wake of the miscreant’s looting, vandalism and ill-motivated effort to seize the institution. The patients are also suffering terribly due disruption of services. The government has committed these wrongdoings as they are angered and raged over Dr. Zafrullah Chowdhury’s decision to join Jatio Oikko Jote, recently formed political platform.

These incidents of attacks proved that there is no safety and security of the people with dissident views. Question has been raised as well about the role of the law enforcement agencies as they denied registering the case when the authority of Gonoshasthaya Kendra had gone over there to lodge a case against the attackers. These incidents revealed the fascist face of the government. I am calling upon the countrymen to take stance against the mischiefs, which are being committed under the backup of the government. 

Finally, I am urging the concerned authorities to withdraw all the false cases, filed against Dr, Zafrullah Chowdhury and also to arrest and punish the miscreants who were involved with the incident of attacking Gonoshasthaya Kendra.
