India’s ruling party MP threats to invade Bangladesh; Secretary General blames government for submissive foreign policy

Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following statement on 2nd October 2018 expressing deep concern as the cabinet gave its approval to a draft deal allowing India to use Chittagong and Mongla port and simultaneously at a recent comment of India’s ruling BJP parliamentarian of the Rajya Sabha Subramanian Swamy, in which he threatened of invading Bangladesh and pushing the Assamese Muslim into Bangladeshi territory.

The countrymen are deeply worried as the cabinet gave its approval to a draft deal allowing India to use Chittagong and Mongla port in such a moment when India’s ruling BJP MP Subramanian Swamy threatened to invade Bangladesh and also to push the Assamese Muslim into Bangladeshi territory. The independence and sovereignty of Bangladesh is at risk due to subservient foreign policy of the incumbent government.

Regarding the above-mentioned issues, the government is maintaining a hide and seek policy, whilst in some occasions, they are remaining completely silent. We are demanding government’s specific view and explanation about these issues. Otherwise, the people would believe that this government is also a part of such heinous conspiracy. We are calling upon the fellow citizens to remain vigilant and awake to protect and defend country’s independence and sovereignty.
