Tasnim Alam rejects the false news of Bangla Tribune against Jamaat-e-Islami

Central Publicity Department’s Secretary of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Professor Md. Tasnim Alam has issued the following statement on 26th August, 2018 protesting and gainsaying the series reports of the online news portal Bangla Tribune published on 24th and 25th August in regards to the Baitulmal (financial record) of Jamaat-e-Islami.

“The series reports of the online news portal Bangla Tribune regarding the Baitulmal (financial record) of Jamaat-e-Islami are completely fictitious. Denouncing the report, I want to assert further that all the information of these series reports are the production of the concerned reporter’s own fiction and manipulation.

Our clear view of the reports is Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami is being operated on the basis of the monthly and single time payment of the leaders and activists, supporters and well wishers. The income and expenditure of this party is its internal matter. Except the financial secretary and party’s top hierarchy, nobody else has any idea about this issue. So this report of Bangla Tribune is totally speculative and based on assumptions.

We would like to inform that, Jamaat-e-Islami had always submitted its financial record and statement to the election commission till party’s registration with the commission was cancelled. If we get our party’s registration back in the upcoming days, we will continue to submit such report again to the commission office and the countrymen would be able to have an idea about it as well. The income and expenditure of the party funds are completely transparent and accountable. There is no room for raising question in this regard.

Each and every political party has some full time leaders and activists as Jamaat has. Raising any further question or creating confusion in this regard is unlawful and illogical.

The report also quoted some indecent information and allegation against Jamaat’s central working committee member and Dhaka city North Secretary Dr. Rezaul Karim and another top leader of Dhaka city South Jamaat-e-Islami. The report contains some baseless information. The leaders, members and activists of this organization are clearly aware of these leaders. So the general masses will not be confused and misguided with such wrong information.

Finally I am urging the authority of Bangla Tribune to be refrained from publishing false, confusing and baseless reports against Jamaat-e-Islami and expecting that they would publish this rejoinder properly to lessen the mass confusion.
