Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Maqbul Ahmad has issued the following statement on 18th August, 2018 extending greetings to the countrymen on the occasion of holy Eid-ul-Azha.
“The holy occasion of Eid-ul-Azha is knocking at our doors with the sermon and unique ideology of the sacrifice. This Eid teaches and encourages us for utmost sacrifices. To the Muslims, both the occasions of Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Azha are the days of celebrations and joy. In these two auspicious occasions, people come closer irrespective of their differences and jealousies and say their prayer altogether. These two Eids not only provide us joy but also strengthen our brotherhood, harmony and fellow-feelings. Eid also bolster our personal, social and national bondages.
Eid-ul-Azha inspires people with the spirit of sacrifice and calls for establishing a just society, which is free from political, social and financial discriminations. Based on the spirit of Qurbani, if we can follow Islam in all perspectives of life, we will be able to attain the satisfaction of Almighty Allah.
Hazrat Ibrahim (A) and his wife Bibi Hajera had set the glorified example of sacrifice in their lives. If we can prepare ourselves to sacrifice our most favorite belongings like they did, then our sacrifice will be fruitful.
The nation is going to observe Eid-ul-Azha in such a crucial period, when the country is suffering from severe political and constitutional crisis. With the assistance of the law enforcers, the ruling party goons are carrying out terrorism, extortion, murder, abduction and anarchy across the country. They have created a reign of terror and anarchic atmosphere everywhere.
The government has kept huge number of leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami, Islami Chhatrashibir and Islami Chhatrishangstha and causing sufferings to them. I am calling upon the countrymen to raise voice against all the conspiracies of the government.
Finally, I am extending greetings to my fellow countrymen on the occasion of holy Eid-ul-Azha. I am also praying to Almighty Allah so that we can celebrate this joyful occasion in a better atmosphere upholding the true spirit of sacrifice. Besides, I am urging the government to release all the detained leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami, Islami Chhatrashibir and Islami Chhatrishangstha ahead of the Eid-ul-Azha.”
