Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Acting Ameer and former lawmaker Professor Mujibur Rahman has issued the following statement on 20th November, 2023 remembering the contributions of Jamaat-e-Islami’s former Secretary General and former Social Welfare Minister Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid.
“Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid was an uncompromising and outstanding leader of the Islamic movement. He will be remembered for years for his bold and historic role in establishing democracy, rule of law, justice, human rights, people’s voting rights, and most of all, a just and welfare state.
He has discharged duties successfully as the Social Welfare Minister during the 2001-2006 tenure of the 4 party alliances. As a minister, he set an example of honesty, efficiency, and transparency.
Being failed to tackle Jamaat-e-Islami politically, the government engaged in plotting conspiracies to destroy party’s leadership. As a part of the conspiracy, they filed a false case of crimes against humanity against Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid. Based on the false testimonies of the ruling party men, he was sentenced to death. The chief justice, who had handed down the death penalty against Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid, became convicted in a corruption case later on.
It is very natural that the verdict of a corrupted justice would be perverse as well. It will be proved with the course of time that, Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid and other Jamaat leaders had been executed to death just to attain the political interest of a vested quarter.
Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid was executed at 12.55 am on 21st November 2015. Islam will be established in this country in exchange for the highest sacrifice, made by Shaheed Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid and other top Jamaat leaders. The nation is feeling the absence of an Ali Ahsan Mohammd Mujahid during this critical political juncture. He will be remembered always for his significant role in the democratic movement of the country.
May Allah accept the martyrdom of Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid and bless him with Jannah. I am urging the Jamaat leaders and activists of all levels to accomplish the unfinished activities of Shaheed Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid and simultaneously expecting assistance and cooperation from fellow countrymen in this regard.
