Central Majlish-e-Shura expresses deep concern over various financial scams

The government is leading the country toward bankruptcy by ruining the national economy

A meeting of central Majlish-e-Shura of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami was held with party’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman in the chair. The meeting expressed deep concern over the unlimited corruption of the incumbent government, looting of banks, money laundering, and other financial scams and adopted the following proposals in this regard:

Central Majlish-e-Shura is observing with deep concern that the unlimited corruption of the incumbent government, looting of banks, money laundering, and other financial scams have taken the national economy to the verge of destruction. In the name of mega projects, multiple doors have been opened to facilitate corruption. Bangladesh is in number 13 serial of the corruption index of the world, which is shameful for the nation.

Padma bridge is a symbol of the government’s corruption, The bridge project was made initially with the cost of 10 thousand crore taka, which ultimately concluded with 40 thousand crore taka. Such major corruption created some untoward pressure on the national economy. Capital market scams, destiny, hallmark scandals, central bank heists and looting money of Islami Bank will remain as a stigma for the country. Awami League leaders also made limitless corruption. Two brothers of Faridpur embezzled more than two thousand crore taka. The same corruption has been made by PK Halders and others.

Extortion has also increased at all levels massively. Though the government verbally declared maintaining zero tolerance against corruption. But the practically, ruling party leaders have constituted various companies and organizations through corruption and looting money. Luxurious homes have been constructed in Begum Para of Canada, second homes in Malaysia and lucrative houses in Singapore and Dubai. Thousands of crores of taka have been deposited in the Swiss Bank. According to various research organizations, 8 lac crore taka has been laundered in various foreign nations. But the real amount is much higher than the stated amount.

Under the backing of the government, a corrupt quarter had taken a loan from the bank but now they denying to pay it back. Most of the mega project’s deadline has been passed but still lots of work to be done. By increasing project expenses, the vested groups have taken lots of money. Corruption prevails everywhere in the country. The remittance flow became sluggish due to the government’s corruption, negligence, and reluctance. As the money of the banks has been looted, the clients are not getting the confidence to deposit money in banks anymore. So, production, investment, and employment in every sector are in deep crisis now. It is evident from the aforesaid issues that, the government is leading the country towards bankruptcy by ruining the national economy in a pre-planned way.

Jamaat’s Majlish-e-Shura is urging the concerned authorities to stop looting and also to bring back embezzled money. Jamaat’s Majlish-e-Shura is also calling upon the authorities to punish those people who were involved with various corruptions. It is also urging fellow countrymen to initiate social resistance against the corrupts and the looters.
