Jamaat Ameer distributes vans and cash among laborers and poor sections in Sylhet

Jamaat’s activities will continue to rehabilitate the flood victims

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has said, a huge number of people have been affected by the recent floods. No individual can fulfill the damage alone. Collective efforts are required. Since the beginning of the natural calamities, Jamaat-e-Islami took a stance beside of the poor and flood victims. Jamaat’s humanitarian activities will continue in the days to come.

Jamaat Ameer further said, the major portion of the society is poor and they belong to the labor community. The overall development is not possible by neglecting these people. Instead of occasional help, it would be more convenient if a means of permanent income could be ensured. Jamaat-e-Islami is bound to establish a just society and as a part of such an approach, Jamaat-e-Islami has taken the initiative to distribute vans among the labor communities. Besides, cash has been distributed to those who lost their everything in this flood. These activities have long-term impacts as they will make them self-reliant. It will also eradicate social discrimination and establish justice.

Accountability and honest income must be practiced in all aspects of life. It will also widen the path to success both in this world and the hereafter.

Jamaat Ameer said this while distributing vans, and cashes among the laborers and the people who lost their capital during the flood and simultaneously wheelchairs among the disabled people.

Sylhet city Jamaat Ameer Muhammad Fakhrul Islam presided over the program which was hosted by city Secretary Shahjahan Ali. Among others, Jamaat’s Assistant Secretary General Advocate Ahasanul Mahabub Zubair, Sylhet city Nayeb-e-Ameer Maulana Sohel Ahmed, Assistant Secretary Advocate Abdur Rab, Jamaat leader Jahedur Rahman Chowdhury, Advocate Jamil Ahmed Raju, Muhammad Anwar Ali, Muhib Ali and others were present on the occasion.

Advocate Ahasanul Mahabub Zubair said, despite all tortures and repressions, Jamaat-e-Islami is working for the welfare of the community. Jamaat has carried out its all-out efforts during the recent floods not only in Sylhet but also in other flood-affected districts. Now Jamaat-e-Islami is working to rehabilitate these victims. Jamaat wants to change society in such a way. No one can stop Jamaat-e-Islami as the leaders and activities of this organization have been doing this to attain the satisfaction of Almighty Allah.

Fakhrul Islam said the laborers work hard which secures the development of the country. But unfortunately, these laborers are the most neglected community in this society.

The laborers and the SME traders are the worst victims of this year’s flood. Considering the scenario, Sylhet city Jamaat has been implementing this rehabilitation program for the flood victims.
