Members’ conference of Rajshahi city Jamaat held

Jamaat leaders and activists have to move forward despite repression and obstruction, says Jamaat Ameer

-Dr. Shafiqur Rahman

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has said, Jamaat-e-Islami has been working for the freedom and betterment of the people. But this task is not easy. There are many barriers and obstructions. However, Jamaat leaders and activists have to move forward despite repression and obstruction.

Jamaat Ameer said this while virtually addressing a members’ conference of Rajshahi city Jamaat recently. Rajshahi city Ameer Dr. Keramat Ali presided over the program which was hosted by city Secretary Emaz Uddin Mondol. Among others, central executive committee member and Rajshahi region’s coordinator Principal Muhammad Shahabuddin, Rajshahi city Nayeb-e-Ameer Principal Siddique Hossain, Advocate Abu Mohammad Salim, Assistant Secretary Principal Mahbubul Ahsan, Professor Shahadat Hossain and organizing secretary Professor Mazidur Rahman addressed the program.

Jamaat Ameer said, Bangladesh has turned into a land of murder and abduction. Our top leaders have been executed unjustifiably. Hundreds of leaders and activists of our beloved organization have become the victim of enforced disappearances, Their families are crying and passing days amidst deep uncertainty. Brigadier General Aman Al Azmi was a brilliant military officer. He was given forced retirement and finally, he became abducted. Barrister Arman was residing in a rented house for security. Even, he was picked up from that house. His mother, wife, and two little daughters are waiting eagerly for his return. We have to work by keeping all these pains deep inside our hearts.

Jamaat is working for establishing an ideal Islamic society. We are calling people to serve Allah only. This path is risky and dangerous. This is the path of revolutionaries like our Prophet’s companions, Khabbab, Khobaib, and Bilal (may Allah be pleased with them). The path belongs to those people, who do not bow down before anyone else except Allah.

Jamaat Ameer further said the people of the country are not well. But the situation cannot continue. Our birthland cannot be ruined in this way. So, to ensure victory over misrule, the Islami movement’s activists have to sacrifice. It is possible only then when we will be prepared to sacrifice our lives and properties for the sake of the movement.

Principal Shahabuddin said that as Muslims, we must remember that we all are the Khalifah of Allah. So, it is our moral obligation and duty to discharge the duties properly. Our opponents are torturing us now as they do not realize our targets and visions. So, we have to continue our activities with due patience.
