The religious personnel should lead the movement of establishing Islam, says Jamaat Ameer

-Dr. Shafiqur Rahman

The Alem or religious scholars are the biggest blessings to the nation. So, they should understand the weight of this blessing. Their prime responsibility is to work toward establishing Islam. Almighty Allah sent the prophets to meet this target. The religious scholars are the inheritor of that tradition. They are already leading Mihrab and minbar and we are expecting them to lead the nation. Only then, the true spirit of this blessing would be reflected properly.

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said this while addressing a conference of the religious personnel and scholars on 5th August. Narshingdi district Jamaat-e-Islami organized the program.

He further said, even after being blessed with knowledge, those who take a stand in favor of disbelievers and atheists, are unfortunate. They should acquire knowledge about the tradition of the prophet, his ideology, the characteristics of the companions, and the Islamic movement. The true knowledgable scholars are able to resist any strike or conspiracy against Islam.

Jamaat Ameer also said, our religious scholars are preaching Islam through social media, public gatherings, and other means. Our youths are being attracted to their efforts. As such, they are playing a very important role on behalf of Islam.

Addressing the program as the special guest, Jamaat’s Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim said, that religious scholars are the victims of repression and torture. Torture, persecution, and imprisonment are their regular companion. Anti-Islam forces are trying to create division among religious scholars. Besides, they are patronizing the wrongdoers and trying them to bring into the mainstream. But such ill efforts will never be succeeded. The unity of the religious figures is a must. Instead of division and blaming one another, there is no alternative to forming a unity to uphold the true beauty of Islam.

Muhaddith Maulana Abdul Khaleq said it is not abnormal to have some differences of opinions. It is permissible as well. Our pious predecessors had such differences but all of those happened for the sake of Islam. The same principle should be followed now.

Dr. Khalilur Rahman Madani said, that religious scholars played a crucial role in the movement against British imperialism. Similarly, religious personalities should come forward to resist ongoing conspiracies against Islam and Islamic education.

Narshingdi district Jamaat Ameer Maulana Mosleh Uddin presided over the program which was hosted by Maulana Abdul Latif Khan. Among others, Maulana Nazmul Islam, Masihur Rahman, Abdul Awal Akanda, Aminul Islam Jihadi, and other local religious leaders addressed the program.
