Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said the people of the country want the next parliamentary election to be held under a neutral government. We are observing that, if the environment is not suitable for such an environment, the countrymen will not let anybody to arrange another farcical election. If the government thinks of holding elections without the public mandate, the people will dethrone them from power through a mass movement.
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said this while addressing a two two-day-long workshop arranged by the Chittagong region Jamaat-e-Islami. The workshop was organized with the working committee members of Chittagong city, Chittagong South district, north district, Cox’s Bazar district, Bandarban, Khagrachari, and Rangamati districts. Jamaat’s central executive committee member and Chittagong region’s coordinator Vice-Principal Abdur Rab presided over the program. Party’s Assistant Secretary General and Chittagong city Ameer Muhammad Shahjahan hosted the program.
The chief guest in his address further said we want to systematically and democratically. People expect many things from Jamaat-e-Islami. They have lost confidence in this government. As Jamaat-e-Islami is doing politics for the sake of public welfare, so the countrymen expect that Jamaat will make its highest effort to meet all public demands as well.
Right now, the nation is suffering two major crises, i. e. power shortage, and flood. We have been continuing our welfare activities in the flood-affected areas. We have also undertaken various rehabilitation programs. The present government has exceeded all previous records of irregularities, corruption, and looting, They are causing severe suffering to the people through load shedding and price hike of essentials. This unbearable situation will never come to an end unless they hand over power to an elected government following a credible election under a neutral government.
Addressing the leaders, Jamaat Ameer said, the Islamic movement’s ultimate goal is to build ourselveslves by attaining the satisfaction of Almighty Allah. If we depart from this world as an activist of Islamic movement but fail to make a place in Jannah, then we are totally failed. On the contrary, if we can manage our lives by making maximum sacrifice and if we we can ognore the threats and persecution of the evil forces, then we will be able to achieve highest sactifice.
Addressing the program, Jamaat’s Nayeb-e-Ameer Professor Mujibur Rahman said, Jamaat leaders have to lead a transparent and halal life. We have to select the same thing for others what we prefer for ourselves. We have to follow the companions in leading our daily lives.
Acting Secretary General Maulana ATM Masum said, the Prophets were always very sincere in discharging their duties. They never did it for any benefit. Their only desire was to achieve the satisfaction of Almighty Allah. They ignored people’s subservience and invited people to become servitude to Allah only. They warned the nation about sins. We have to work with a similar approach in order to correct and purify the people, who fell into the trap of sins and misdeeds.
Assistant Secretary General Hamidur Rahman Azad said Jamaat is the victim of severe torture and persecution. We have to move forward by tackling all state-sponsored conspiracies. We should try hard to attain Allah’s satisfaction and simultaneously to strengthen the organization.
Abdur Rab said Jamaat became able to gain public confidence since its beginning after overcoming many barriers. Jamaat’s history is the history of torture, repression, and martyrdom. Our activities never stopped even after the martyrdom of our leaders. He urged the party leaders to invite people toward Islam.
Jamaat’s Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim placed Darsul Quran in this workshop. Darsul Hadith was delivered by central working committee member Muhaddith Abdul Khaleque. Dhaka city North Jamaat Ameer Muhammad Selim Uddin, central working committee member Professor Ahsanullah Bhuiyan, Chittagong south district Ameer Jafor Sadeq, Chittagong north district’s former Ameer Principal Amiruzzaman and Cox’s Bazar district’s former Ameer Maulana Mostafizur Rahman also addressed the program.
