Urges OIC to take stern actions to tackle conspiracies against Islam

Jamaat Ameer condemns BJP leader's derogatory remarks against Prophet Muhammad (pbuH)

-Dr. Shafiqur Rahman

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following statement on 7th June 2022 protesting and condemning India’s ruling BJP leader's derogatory remarks against holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuH).

In recent times, India’s ruling BJP leaders have made derogatory remarks against holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuH) while attending a television talkshow which is really unfortunate and regrettable. It is a direct blow against religious sentiment. By such comments, they have hurt the hearts of the people. We are condemning and protesting such remarks.

Any people has the right to exercise his/her religion and rituals. No religion encouraged its followers to make foul or negative comments against other religion. India's ruling BJP's spokesperson Nupur Sharma and its media team member Naveen Kumar Jindal made a objectionable and derogatory remarks against Prophet Muhammad (pbuH). Their expulsions are not enough, rather Indian government should ensure exemplary punishment against them.

We urge the global Muslim communities and the OIC to take unified and stern measures against those who vilify the divine scriptures of Islam including the holy Qur'an and the Sunnah, and the holy Prophet (pbuh) of Islam."
