The countrymen must be united for the sake of Islam, says Dr. Shafiqur Rahman

Although 50 years have passed since the independence but still the fellow countrymen are not experiencing its real benefit. People’s dream for establishing democracy, fundamental rights and humanitarian Bangladesh is not met. They have to struggle for securing their rights. The mass sufferings became intensified as the incumbent government is gripping the office by holding farcical election and simultaneously by seizing people’s voting rights away. As there are no accountabilities, the ruling sections have become accustomed to authoritarian rule. The people earlier had fought for two times, firstly in 1947 and secondly in 1971. But the people could not taste the real freedom. So, they have to be united for the sake of Islam. People have to revive to establish a just society.

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman told this while addressing a virtual workers’ conference on 19th November. Narsingdi district Jamaat organized the program.

Jamaat Ameer stated that Jamaat-e-Islami is not a conventional political party. We have to attain Almighty Allah’s satisfaction by discharging the duties, left over by the Prophets. Jamaat is not detached from the people despite huge repression, torture and false cases. Jamaat will continue to work for restoring democracy and citizen rights. Worldwide, Islamist people are becoming the victims of terrorism. Similar trend is also apparent in Bangladesh. Our top leaders did not give up the ideologies. They accepted martyrdom and set a unique example of sacrifice.

Jamaat’s Acting Secretary General Maulana ATM Masum, central executive committee member Saiful Alam Khan Milon, central executive committee member and Dhaka South city Ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul and Jamaat’s central Majlish-e-Shura member Abdul Jabbar addressed the program as the special guest. District and Upazila level leaders also spoke on the occasion. Narsingdi district Secretary Professor Amzad Hossain hosted the program. Narsingdi district Ameer Maulana Mosleh Uddin presided over the event.

Acting Secretary General Maulana ATM Masum said, the Prophetic mission was to work for the doctrine of Almighty Allah. To hold its legacy, we have to bolster the activities of Iqamat-e-Deen. To eliminate repression, looting and corruption, there is no alternative but establishing Islamic society. Quoting a Hadith, he added that the nation which gave up the effort of establishing Deen, an insulative and demeaning power is imposed subsequently upon it. So, we all have to come forward to establish a just society.

Saiful Alam Khan Milon said, our Prophet (peace be upon Him) became able to alter a dark society. Quoting the famous book, ‘The Hundred’ he further said that, our Prophet is the best, His established social structure is also the best. Islam is the best living code. So, we also have to attain supremacy as His Ummah. Nurul Islam Bulbul said, people have to be taught with the holy Quran. They have to learn wisdom. Strength of faith to be achieved by leading a purified life under the shadow of Islam.
