Noted economist and former Secretary of Bangladesh government Shah Abdul Hannan died in a city hospital at 10:37 in the morning on 2 June 2021. Innalillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun. He has been undergoing treatment for last couple of days. He has discharged duties as the Secretary to the Finance Ministry and various other ministries successfully. He also accomplished his duties as the Chairman of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited, Ibn Sina Trust and Diganta Media Corporation. He was a renowned Islamic scholar. He held a strong view about contemporary issues and wrote columns and articles regularly. He led a very simple life. The nation lost an outstanding economist and big-hearted Islamic figure at his demise. His vacuum will not be fulfilled easily.
