Former Moulvibazar district Ameer Dewan Sirajul Islam Matlib passes away; Jamaat Ameer condoles

Dewan Sirajul Islam Matlib, a veteran member (Rukon) of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, former Ameer of Moulvibazar district, and former member of the party’s Central Majlis-e-Shura, passed away on June 18 at 6:30 PM at the age of 80 (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilayhi Raji'un). He is survived by his wife, six sons, three daughters, many grandchildren, and numerous relatives.

Message of Condolence

Expressing deep sorrow at the demise of Dewan Sirajul Islam Matlib, Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dr. Shafiqur Rahman issued a message of condolence on June 18.

In his condolence message, he said: “Veteran Islamic activist, preacher of Islam Dewan Sirajul Islam was a renowned writer and researcher. He was involved in numerous social activities. As a skilled organizer, he played a significant role in establishing the Islamic movement on a strong foundation. With his passing, we have lost a devoted Da’yee (caller to Islam) of the Islamic movement. He tirelessly worked toward establishing a society based on justice and fairness and made numerous contributions to the promotion and expansion of the Islamic movement. I express my deep grief at his demise.”

He further stated in the message: “May Allah Almighty forgive him and have mercy on him. May Allah expand his grave and forgive his sins by transforming them into good deeds. May every stage from the grave onwards be made easy, peaceful, and full of blessings for him. May Allah, the Lord of the worlds, grant him a high rank in Jannah and bestow patience and strength upon his grieving family and relatives to endure this loss.”
