-Dr. Shafiqur Rahman

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following message of condolence on September 24 expressing deep shock at the death of noted journalist, Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists-BFUJ President and Chief Reporter of Daily Sangram Ruhul Amin Gazi.

Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists-BFUJ President and Chief Reporter of Daily Sangram Ruhul Amin Gazi was under treatment in ICU in a private hospital in Dhaka. He passed away on Tuesday, 24th September at 9 pm (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Raziun). I am deeply saddened by his demise.

Late Ruhul Amin Ghazi was a famous journalist and a brave freedom fighter of the country. He has served with reputation in the journalistic community for a long time. He was a fearless soldier for establishing rule of law, development of democracy and establishment of truth in the country through his writings and speeches. His role in all democratic movements of the pasts and particularly his bold role against the fascism will be remembered by the nation with reverence. He had to be imprisoned for a long time under the wrath of the previous fascist government. Even though, he continued his fearless writings. He never hesitated to stand by the side of the oppressed. His fight for the oppressed will be remembered. His death has created a vacuum and it will not be filled easily. In his demise we have lost a patriotic, fearless and brilliant journalist leader.

May Allah Almighty forgive and have mercy on him and widen his grave. May Allah forgive his sins and turn them into good deeds. May Allah make every destination easy and comfortable. May Allah Almighty grant him a high place in Jannah and enable his mournful family to overcome this mournful period of time.
