Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following message of condolence on 31st July, 2024 expressing deep shock and grief as Palestinian resistance movement Hamas’s political chief Ismail Haniyeh has been killed in Iranian capital Tehran.
Haniyeh and one of his bodyguards were killed after the building where they were staying was struck. Haniyeh was in Tehran to attend the inauguration ceremony of Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian on Tuesday. Hamas confirmed the news in a statement and blamed Israel for his death.
Ismail Haniyeh was very popular figure in entire Palestine, particularly in Gaza strip. He grew up in a refugee camp. He represents the vast majority of the people who are the descendants of the refugee families who were displaced from the Palestinian territories in 1948. His 4 sons, 4 grandsons and granddaughters had been killed in an Israeli airstrike in last April and his sister was killed in another attack in last June. I am expressing my deep shock and condolence for their tragic deaths.
I am praying for his departed soul. May Allah accept him as a martyr. May Allah accept all his good deeds and bless him with Jannah. May Allah enable his mournful family members and the fellow colleagues, associates and Palestinian fighters to bear this irreparable shock. Ameen.
