Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Acting Ameer and former lawmaker Professor Mujibur Rahman has issued the following message of condolence on 7th August 2023 expressing deep shock at the death of noted academician, researcher, author and retired professor of Rajshahi University Shah Mohammad Habibur Rahman.

Noted academician, researcher, author and Islamic economist was a renowned Professor of the Department of Economics in Rajshahi University. He was very close to the students. He was the founding member of the Shariah council of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited. He has immense contribution in the field of Islamic economy. I am expressing deep shock at his death.

Late Professor Shah Mohammad Habibur Rahman was a patron and guardian of the Islamic movement. He has significantly contributed in creating education-based Dawah activities for which he will be remembered in the history of Islamic movement in this country. He was a preacher of Islam, author, researcher and dedicated organizer. In personal life, his characters and ibadah was of outstanding level. At his demise, we have lost a dedicated soul for the Islamic movement. May Allah accept all his noble deeds and enable his family and relatives to hold patience.
