Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood’s Ex-Chairman Mahdi Akef dies; Ameer-e-Jamaat condoles

Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Maqbul Ahmad has issued the following message of condolence on 23rd September, 2017 at the death of Mohamed Mahdi Akef, the former Chairman (Murshid-e-Aam) of Muslim Brotherhood of Egypt who died in a hospital in Cairo on 22nd September.

In the message of condolence, Jamaat Ameer stated that the Muslim Ummah has lost a veteran Islamic scholar and a great leader of the world Islamic movement at the demise of Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood’s former Chairman Mohamed Mahdi Akef. Like the Egyptians, we are also deeply shocked at the death of this great leader. He has struggled throughout his life for establishing Islamic state and Islamic society in Egypt. His sacrifice will remain as a source of inspiration for not only for the Egyptians, but also for the leaders, members and activists of the Islamic movement around the world.

May Allah accept all his noble deeds to bless him with a dignified place in Jannah. I am extending my deep sympathy to his mournful family, political associates and colleagues, well wishers and followers. I am praying to Almighty Allah so that they can bear the shock of this irreparable loss.”
