Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General and former Member of Parliament Professor Mia Golam Porwar issued a statement today, 9 September expressing deep concern and strong condemnation over the occupying Israel’s airstrike in Doha, the capital of the independent and sovereign state of Qatar.
In the statement, he said: “Qatar is an independent and sovereign state. On 9 September, the occupying Israel carried out a barbaric airstrike on Qatar’s capital, Doha, without any provocation. This is a gross violation of international laws and conventions, and a serious threat to the security and protection of the citizens of Qatar. This reckless behavior of Israel is a grave crime and a major obstacle to regional security and world peace. I express deep concern and strongly condemn this aggressive action of the occupying Israel.”
He further said: “The illegitimate state of Israel is a catastrophe and threat for global peace and security. For a long time, they have been continuing occupation in Palestine and carried out genocide against innocent people. They have practically turned the Gaza Strip into ruins. Now, by attacking a sovereign country like Qatar, Israel has proved that it is engaged in a conspiracy to destabilize the entire Middle East. If this aggression is not stopped, Israel’s human rights violations will take a dreadful turn and global peace will be destroyed.”
Addressing the people of the world, he said: To protect the sovereignty of independent states in the Middle East, including Qatar, and to stop the aggression of the occupying Israel, the United Nations, the OIC, and the peace-loving nations of the world must take effective and strict measures immediately.”
