Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Acting Secretary General Maulana ATM Masum has issued the following statement on 14th November 2023 urging to make 48-hour blockade on 15th and 16th November successful.

The incumbent government in last 15 years have turned the country into a failed state by continuous murder, anarchy, abduction, corruption and misrule. Bangladesh is being introduced in the global arena now as nation of murder and abduction, repeated violation of human rights and most of all as a nation without voting rights and democracy. The whole nation to press home their one-point demand. Under such circumstances, on behalf of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, we already have declared nationwide peaceful blockade of road, naval ways and railways from 15th November 6 am to 17th November 6 am for 48 hours demanding the resignation of the government, release of Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman and other political detainees, withdrawal of false cases and for bringing the prices of the essentials within people’s capacity. I am caking upon the leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and the fellow countrymen to make the declared programs successful.

Besides, I am calling upon the countrymen and the organizational manpower not to be entrapped by the provocation, anti-democratic and anti-constitutional activities of the government.
