Jamaat declares 48-hour long blockade from 8th November 6am to 10th November 6am

-Maulana ATM Masum

Acting Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Maulana ATM Masum has issued the following statement on 6th November 2023 declaring 48-hour blockade of road, railway and naval ways on 8th and 9th November demanding the resignation of the oppressor regime, restoration of the caretaker government, release of Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, all other leaders and religious scholars, withdrawal of the false cases and to bring the price of the essentials within people’s capacity.

“The government is mulling to come back to the office by holding a farcical and one-sided election once again. The people are extremely fed-up with the misrule of the government. People are not allowed to speak out. Their voting rights have been taken away. Misrule and injustice are prevailing everywhere. Looting and corruptions are increasing alarmingly. National economy has been ruined. People are being sued with false cases and they are being harassed like anything. Houses, offices and business institutions of the opposition men are being damaged. People are becoming penniless every day. No nation can function in such a way.

Under the circumstances, we are declaring third phase of blockade for 48 hours from 8th November 6am to 10th November 6am across the country demanding the resignation of the oppressor regime, restoration of the caretaker government, release of Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, all other leaders and religious scholars, withdrawal of the false cases and to bring the price of the essentials within people’s capacity. I am urging the Jamaat leaders and activists and the fellow countrymen to make the blockade successful.”
