Secretary General denounces fake IDs in various social media; Jamaat will not take their responsibilities, he asserts

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Secretary General and former lawmaker Professor Mia Golam Porwar has issued the following statement on 15 November 2020 in regards to the comments, status and addresses which are being posted in different social media platforms using different groups and IDs.

We have been observing that different opinions are being posted from different fake and concocted IDs using the name of Jamaat-e-Islami. Useless, false and baseless information are being issued from these IDs which are really painful. Condemning such activities, we want to assert that Jamaat-e-Islami has verified and official Facebook page. Except this page, we have no authorized page. We have specific admins to operate the official Facebook page of Jamaat-e-Islami. No one else cannot get access to this page.

Some campaigns are going on from various IDs including ‘জামায়াত সমর্থক গোষ্ঠী’ (Jamaat Supporters Forum), Jamaat online group and some other IDs on the name of the present and former leaders of the organization. Jamaat and Jamaat leaders are no way connected with these IDs and its activities. If anything is posted from these IDs which goes against the principles, policies and approaches of Jamaat-e-Islami, then the party will not take its liabilities. I am urging all to remain aware and cautious about these issues.

Whoever is operating these IDs, it is our humble request to all of them; please stay away from these activities. Otherwise, we will have the view that the concerned quarters are trying to damage the image and reputations of Jamaat-e-Islami.
