Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said that massive losses occurred in the recent flood. No human being or government has the ability to manage it. Only Almighty Allah can make it possible. The government has some responsibilities in this regard so we do. We want the government to do its duties. They have to be accountable before Almighty Allah for their failures. But we are here from a humanitarian organization. Our party wants to bring a quality change in this country. We want to establish a society, free from crimes. We want the people to live in dignity. This type of positive environment can be established if we can follow the path and rules, given by Almighty Allah and demonstrated by the Prophet (peace be upon Him). We are struggling to meet such a target.
Jamaat Ameer said this while distributing foods and other gift items among the flood victims of Kompanyganj Upazila under the Sylhet district. Jamaat Ameer distributed food and other items in Telikhali Bazar of Kompanyganj Upazila, Kakurail Madrasa adjacent field under Uttor Ronikhail union, Modho Rajnagar village under East Islampur union and Choumuhoni Bazar if West Islampur Union on 11th July.
Among others, Jamaat’s central Assistant Secretary General and former MP AHM Hamidur Rahman Azad, central Majlish-e-Shura member and Sylhet city Ameer Muhammad Fakhrul Islam, central Majlish-e-Shura member and Sylhet north district Ameer Maulana Anwar Hossain Khan, Secretary and Jointapur Upazila’s former chairman Joinal Abedin, Islami Chhatrashibir’s central literature affairs secretary Zahidul Islam, Dhaka University President Shibly Omar, and others were present on the occasion.
Jamaat Ameer stated that the recent flood’s loss and damage are very severe. As an Islamic organization, Jamaat-e-Islami will be by the side of the flood victims. No one can refrain from such activities. We will not surrender before any injustice, we will bow down only before Almighty Allah. You will pray for us cordially. Jamaat-e-Islami seeks your sincere support in its effort to Islamic law in this country.
Addressing the gathering, Jamaat Ameer further said, we want such a rule, such a ruler and government staff- who will fulfill people’s rights, discharge their duties wholeheartedly and seek mercy and strength from Allah. Because of such struggles, our leaders had to embrace martyrdom, our brothers became the victim of enforced disappearances and we had to go through torture and immense repression. We do not have any regret for these incidents. We want a ruler who will rule the country as per the holy Quran. We are expecting you and your company on the journey for establishing doctrine on this land.
