Jamaat distributes gift items among flood victims in 4 spots of Sunamganj district

We came here to serve you as a part of our responsibilities as human beings- Dr. Shafiqur Rahman

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman visited various flood-affected areas of Sunamganj district today including district’s Jamalganj Upazila’s Bhimkhali union’s Jallabaj village and Dhormopasha Upazila’s Noagaon village and distributed food and other gift items among the flood victims.

At that time Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, all praises to Almighty Allah. Almighty Allah created human beings just to worship Him. So, we will praise him and worship time throughout our lives. Dangers and crises come from Allah. People are entirely responsible for these trials and tribulations. We all are sinners. Allah bestows such danger upon us to check our patience. He forgives those who become humble and repentant following such a disaster.

It is fact that we frequently seek Allah’s help during a crisis. Even during this ongoing flood, we did not seek any people’s or political leader’s help. We only sought help and assistance from Allah. The flood situation is gradually improving. So, we should not forget our Lord. Rather, we have to worship Him and recall Him in seasons and out of seasons. This time, the flood was the most severe disaster for our locality. This Sunamganj district produces 26% food of the country’s total food quantity. But the flood has snatched everything away from us. We seek blessing from Allah. May Allah make our situation easier.

This time flood caused heavy casualties. Many dead bodies went into missing. Cattle and other domestic animals are lost. I am praying to Allah to accept all dead victims as martyr. No human being can fulfill the damage of this disaster. But the govenrment can play effective role in reducing public crisis. But our authority has failed to make it happened.

The coutrymen are of the view that the government has no responsibility towards the people as they are not an elected government. Otherwise, no govermment can play such a passive role in this crucial period as this govenrment has done this time.

Among others, Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim, central executive committee member and Dhaka city south Ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul, central relief committee’s Sylhet region’s coordinator and Assistant Secretary General Ahasanul Mahbub Zubayer, Gazipur city Jamaat’s Acting Ameer Jamal Uddin, Secretary Professor Khairul Hasan, central Majlish-e-Shura member and Sunamganj district Ameer Maulana Tofayel Ahmed Khan, district Nayeb-e-Ameer Advocate Shamsuddin, central Majlish-e-Shura member and Dhaka city north Jamaat’s Assistant Secretary Lashkar Mohammad Taslim, Mahfuzur Rahman and Dr. Fakhruddin Manik, Islami Chhatrashibir’s former central President Salauddin Aiyubu and other local leaders were present on the occasion.
