Maulana Abdul Halim distributes relief in flood-affected places under Kurigram district

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim has said, several northern districts including Kurigram, Lalmonirhat, and Nilphamari are experiencing the worst-ever flood situations. Houses and cropland have been submerged by water. As the water flow is increasing alarmingly, the rural farmers are also worried about the cattle and other domestic animals. The flood-affected areas are suffering from the crisis of safe drinking water. Waterborne diseases are spreading like anything. The river water is flowing over the danger level which simultaneously caused severe river erosion. Under this critical condition, so far no relief activities become visible from the government level. The government’s silent role has shocked the nation. The government should stand by the side of the flood victims.

Maulana Abdul Halim said this while distributing relief in Kurigram district’s Rowmari Upazila’s Jadurchor union’s Bokbandha, Lathialdanga, Kheuwar chor, Dublabari and other flood-affected areas.

He further said, during this crisis, the pro-people organization Jamaat-e-Islami has taken the side of the flood victims. Jamaat always remains with the people in crisis. Jamaat leaders are sincerely working for the flood victims in Sylhet and Sunamganj districts. Similarly, we are here to serve you. Our holy Prophet (pbuH) inspired us to work for the helpless people. Complying His instructions, we always had been with the helpless people and will be insha Allah.

Kurigram district Jamaat Ameer Maulana Abdul Matin Faruque, district working committee member Maulana Habibur Rahman, Rowmari Upazila Jamaat Ameer Mostafizur Rahman Mostak, Upazila secretary Abul Kalam Azad, Razibpur Upazila Ameer Maulana Abdul Latif and Secretary Maulana Abdul Aziz were present during the relief distribution.
