Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s central executive committee member Mohammad Shahabuddin said citizen life in Sylhet is completely devastated because of the ongoing flood situation. Combined efforts are needed to overcome this situation. Jamaat-e-Islami is still working for the benefit of the people ignoring all tortures and repressions. They came forward to help the waterlogged people. We have to work for this helpless community from our own position. It is our ethical responsibility to come forward for helping these people.
He said this while distributing relief, cooked food, pure drinking water, medicines, and candles among the flood victims in various places of Sylhet city on 19th May. Sylhet city Jamaat distributed these relief items throughout the day in Saheber Gao under ward number 38, Tuketgao and Gouripur under ward number 39, Uposhohor B block, and elsewhere of the town.
Among others, Jamaat’s Assistant Secretary General Advocate Ahsanul Mahabub Zubayer, city Jamaat Ameer Muhammad Fakhrul Islam, Sylhet south district Ameer Principal Abdul Hannan, city Nayeb-e-Ameer Maulana Sohel Ahmed, Secretary Mohammad Shahjahan Ali, office secretary Jahedur Rahman Chowdhury, Jalalabad thana Ameer Maulana Ali Haider, Sadar thana Ameer Sultan Khan, Shah Poran west thana Ameer Md. Anwar Ali, Secretary Shahed Ali, Jamaat leaders and other ward leaders were present on the occasions.
