Jamaat will continue its humanitarian works in future as before, says Secretary General

Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has said that Jamaat-e-Islami is not an as usual political party, rather it is a systematic, democratic and ideological political party, which is actively working for the benefit of the people. Jamaat has taken side of the victims in all the crucial periods. As a part of the same historical legacy, we have come here today to extend our sympathy to the fire victims. Jamaat will continue such welfare activities in the upcoming days as well. Jamaat's Secretary General urged all the people, specially the solvent quarters to help and assist the victims. He said this while distributing financial assistances to fire victims of Mirpur's Cholontika slums, which came under severe fire accident recently. Among others, Jamaat's central executive committee member and Dhaka north city Ameer Muhammad salim Uddin, party’s central working committee member Principal Muhammad Shahabuddin, central Majlish-e-Shura member and Dhaka North city Jamaat's Assistant Secretary Mahfuzur Rahman, Dhaka North city Jamaat's working committee member Engineer Ghulam Mustafa and Maulana Delwar Hossain were present on the occasion.

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, it is responsibility of the government to resolve the crisis of the citizens. But as the welfare state is not established yet, the citizens are being deprived from state's welfare management. It is not possible for a party to act like the state apparatus. Though we have desire to serve people but our capacity is so limited. However Jamaat-e-Islami has been trying to help and serve people as much it can. Dr. Shafiq urged all quarters to get involved with the movement for establishing a just and welfare state.
