Lalmonirhat district Jamaat distributes winter clothes

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim has said, the voters have boycotted the 7th January’s election by denying to go to the poll centers. They passed an idle day during this election. By holding this dummy election, the government has been made detached from the people. Because of this farcical election, the government has taken stand against the people. The democratic world is not recognizing this election. The government should cancel this election and should arrange another credible election under a caretaker government.

He said this while addressing a winter cloth distribution program organized by Lalmonirhat district Jamaat. District Ameer Ataur Rahman presided over the program which was hosted by district secretary Advocate Md. Abu Taher. Among others, district Jamaat’s assistant secretary Hafez Shah Alam, district’s working committee member and former Upazila vice chairman Advocate Firoz Haidar Lavlu, Ataul Islam Fatemi, Abu Musa, Aditmari Upazila Ameer Maulana Abdul Mannan and Chhatrashibir district president Osman Goni were present on the occasion.

Maulana Abdul Halim said, the government has kept many leaders and activists behind the bar in connection with the false cases. They cannot live in their houses. Their business institutions have become closed. We have to strengthen over movement against the government despite the repression of this fascist authority. Due to such oppression, Jamaat-e-Islami cannot do its noble works including winter cloth distributions. However, Jamaat is working for the betterment of the poor and impoverished communities. Jamaat always try to remain by the side of the people and will continue to act similarly in future.

The inhabitants of Lalmonirhat district are suffering from severe coldness. Due to inflation, people are struggling to manage their regular foods. They cannot buy winter clothes because of the financial crisis. In this backdrop, as a pro-people organization, Jamaat has come forward to lessen the distress and sufferings of the people. We are expecting that the poor people will be benefited from these initiatives. He urged the affluent people to extend their helping hand for the poor communities.
