Jamaat extends support to Hifazat-e-Islam’s long march set for Saturday
Friday, 05th April, 2013
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has extended its support to the Hifazat-e-Islam’s ‘long march’ scheduled for Saturday to realize 13-point demand including exemplary punishment of anti-Islami bloggers.

Extending the support, Jamaat Acting Secretary General Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan in a statement on Tuesday said Hifazat-e-Islam is a non-political organization of the country’s Islamic scholars. The organization is free from any other political party’s influence also.

He said Islamic scholars have become united to save Islam and its values, however a section of the people, who wanted to root out Islam from the country, is intentionally working to politicize the pro-religious organization.

The leader said the atheists have been publicizing anti-Islamic propagandas through different ways including academic syllabus and writing in blogs under the government support.
He said the country’s Islam-loving people have become united against the anti-Islamic government and its patronized atheist people.

Mr Khan said the government intentionally sued the 18-party alliance’s leaders including BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia on charge of their shutdown programme.

He said the Home Minister violated the constitution through filing false and fabricated cases against the 18-party leaders as the strike is backed by rights guaranteed in the Constitution.
The Jamaat leader also called upon the country’s people to make the upcoming Long March successful to force the government to heed to the demands.
