Tribunal sets 11th August to produce next prosecution witness in Maulana Nizami’s case

The International Crimes Tribunal in Dhaka asked the prosecution to produce their next witness on 11th August in the case of the Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Maulana Matiur Rahman Nizami. The three member tribunal one headed by Justice ATM Fazle Kabir fixed the date following a prosecution’s time prayer. The prosecution earlier sought the time as they could not produce the 16th witness fixed on Thursday. Earlier on Thursday morning, the conducting prosecutor of the case, Mohammad Ali informed the tribunal that production warrant had been issued to bring 4 prosecution witnesses but none of them are present today. The defence lawyer urged the tribunal to adjourn the case till 18th August considering the Eid vacation. Later, hearing o both the sides, the tribunal fixed 11th August as the next date of this case. Already 15 prosecution witnesses had delivered their testimony in the tribunal in line with the case of Maulana Matiur Rahman Nizami.
