Professor of International Relations in Dhaka University Professor Dr. Shahiduzzaman has said, you are ridiculing with Jamaat-e-Islami. But the present generation, who are involved with Jamaat-e-Islami, they are also Bangladeshi citizens, they have some specific characteristics and they are maintaining it. The powerful Hindu force, who are in our neighboring positions, are not inclined to supply due share of water, who are not approving our borders and repeatedly think that our independent entity should be kept under their control. To get rid of their surveillance, we the Bengali Muslims should revive our distinguished entity and subsequently will emerge as a modern state.
We will not indulge fundamentalism and will modernize our Madrasa. But the quarters who are often saying about 1971 or fundamentalism, we are observing that they are criticizing the BNP-Jamaat alliance. But BNP participated the last national election by making an alliance with Jamaat as Awami League made with the leftist parties. But at that time, Awami League did not say that they would start a holy war to take Jamaat away from BNP. Regarding the BNP-Jamaat alliance, we should understand that even the United States consider Jamaat as a moderate and relevant party. Why the US authority recognize them? As they know that if this party is not under due political process, it may push them towards extremism. Some vested quarters are making provocations so that the government makes some mistakes but such an ill effort may eventually create some suicide bombers in Bangladesh.
