Jamaat Ameer urges to provide assistance to the Uttara fire accident victims

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman issued a statement today, 16 January, expressing deep sorrow over the tragic death of six people in a fire at a building on Road No. 18 of Sector No. 11 in Uttara, the capital.

In the statement, he said, “Today, 16 January, at around 8:00 am, a fire broke out at a building on Road No. 18 of Sector No. 11 in Uttara, the capital, resulting in the deaths of six people and leaving another 13 seriously injured. The deaths of Fazle Rabbi, Haris, Rahab, Afsana, Rodela Akter, and two-and-a-half-year-old child Risan in this incident have plunged their families into an irreparable loss. I express my deep sorrow over these casualties.

He further said, “I pray to Almighty Allah to accept all the deceased as martyrs, expands their graves, and grants them Jannatul Ferdous. At the same time, may Allah grant patience and fortitude to the bereaved families in this difficult time.”

He said, “I wish a speedy recovery for those injured and currently undergoing treatment in hospitals. At the same time, I call upon the concerned authorities to investigate the actual cause of the fire and to take effective measures to prevent such tragic incidents in the future.

“I also call upon the local branch organizations of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami to provide all possible assistance and cooperation to the affected families.”
