Assistant Secretary General and Head of Central Media and Publicity Department of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, issued a statement on July 17 Advocate Ahsanul Mahboob Zubair, strongly condemning and protesting against the baseless and false propaganda against Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami in the report published on the first page of Daily Inqilab under the title “Propaganda to form Islamic alliance under Jamaat-e-Islami’s leadership is in full swing”.
In the statement, he said, “I strongly condemn and protest against the baseless, false and untrue information presented in the report published on the first page of Daily Inqilab under the title ‘Propaganda for forming an Islamic alliance under the leadership of Jamaat is in full swing’, stating that ‘Jamaat is being forced to form an alliance on the orders of Delhi and is demanding elections through PR methods’. The propaganda spread against Jamaat-e-Islami in the entire report of Daily Inqilab has no real basis. The allegations made in the report of Inqilab about Jamaat’s founder Ameer Maulana Syed Abul Ala Maududi (RA) do not contain even a shred of truth. The baseless and untrue statements written quoting the statements of the current Ameer of Jamaat, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, are nothing but the imaginary comments of the concerned reporter of Inqilab.
The allegations made in the report of Daily Inqilab against Jamaat for implementing the Indian agenda and implementing the project to rehabilitate the Awami League is nothing but baseless and falsehood, fabricated in the factory of the relevant report of Inqilab. The concerned reporter has made an attempt to tarnish the image of Jamaat by publishing a concocted report against Jamaat with a malicious intention. Just as the dictators of the past could not tarnish the image of Jamaat by spreading false propaganda in this way, the Inqilab authorities will not be able to tarnish the image of Jamaat either. The countrymen consider Daily Inqilab to be the spokesperson of the people who love Islam. Daily Inqilab should take this matter seriously and publish news. Otherwise, the credibility and image of Daily Inqilab will be severely tarnished. They should follow the minimum principles of journalism.
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has been playing a glorious role in the national interest since its inception. I appeal to the Daily Inqilab newspaper authorities to refrain from carrying out baseless and false propaganda against Jamaat and publish this protest statement properly to lessesn the mass confusion.
