In his statement, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman noted that Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus addressed to the nation at 7 PM today, during which he declared that the 13th National Parliamentary Election would be held on any day in the first half of April 2026. The nation feels reassured by this announcement and hopes that necessary steps will be taken to conduct a free, fair, impartial, and acceptable election within the declared timeframe.

He further emphasized that the nation's strong aspirations for reform, trial of the fascist forces, and elections—anchored in the formulation and implementation of the "July Charter"—will enable the interim government to restore a sound democratic trajectory in Bangladesh.
