Matiur Rahman Akanda protests against spreading false information with fake signatures in the name of Jamaat’s Ameer and Secretary General

Central Publicity and Media Secretary of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Advocate Matiur Rahman Akanda issued a statement on October 28, 2024 strongly condemning and protesting against the spreading false information with fake signatures in the name of Ameer Jamaat and Secretary General in different social media by making fake pads in the name of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami.

"Our attention has been drawn to the information circulated on various social media, mentioning various positions under the title 'Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Central Non-Muslim Branch Committee'." Our clear statement in this regard is that the pad used in the disseminated information is not the pad of Jamaat-e-Islami and the signature in the name of the Ameer and Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami is fake and false. The said pad and the signatures of Ameer Jamaat and Secretary General do not match the reality. A mischievous group has spread fake and false information in the name of Jamaat-e-Islami with the nefarious intention of tarnishing the image of Jamaat-e-Islami and also for creating confusion in the public mind.

He also said that all activities of Jamaat-e-Islami are public. People's perception of Jamaat-e-Islami is clear. So, people cannot be misled by spreading fake and false information. I appeal to the concerned authorities and stakeholders to desist from spreading such fake and false information against Jamaat-e-Islami.”
