-Professor Mia Golam Porwar

Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former MP Professor Mia Golam Porwar issued the following statement on 31st August strongly condemning and protesting the death of Abdullahil Kafi, Sapahar Upazila Jamaat secretary under Naogaon district.

"At around 10:30 pm on 30th August, Naogaon district's Sapahar Upazila Jamaat secretary Abdullahil Kafi and Jamaat worker Ahmadullah were returning after attending a party program organized by Aihai Union Jamaat. When they reached a place in between Syedpur and Manikura, 7/8 miscreants suddenly came from the east and started beating them severely with sticks. When the villagers came forward on the screams of the victims, the miscreants tried to escape with their motorcycle. Later, having no other options, the miscreants left the motorcycle and ran away. Abdullahil Kafi and Ahmadullah became seriously seriously injured were in this incident. They were initially given first aid at Sapahar Upazila Hospital. Abdullahil Kafi's injuries were serious and he was taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where he died shortly after. We strongly condemn and protest this murder incident.

The fascist government collapsed recently in the face of the mass uprising . The beneficiaries of the previous tyrannical government cannot accept this at all. They are systematically trying to destabilize the country. Therefore, the interim government has to play a strict role in maintaining law and order.

I appeal to the concerned authorities to immediately arrest the killers of Abdullahil Kafi and to ensure their exemplary punishment.”
