Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah as the country became liberated from the autocratic and dictator regime in exchange for the blood of hundreds of martyrs.
In a statement issued on 5th August, 2024, Jamaat Ameer congratulated the people and called for maintaining peace and order in the country.
Jamaat Ameer in his statement said, I wholeheartedly thank Almighty Allah as He freed the beloved Bangladesh from the grip of dictators in exchange for the blood of hundreds of martyrs. I express my gratitude to the country's students, teachers, cultural personalities, journalists, lawyers, poets and writers, civil society and people of various professions and political parties for the unique role they have played in making this movement successful.
I pay deep respect and tribute to those who have sacrificed their lives for this movement. I do express my condolences to their mournful families. I pray for the quick recovery of the injured. The nation will remember our youth as heroes.
The nation is grateful to our pride, Bangladesh Army for the role they have played for the sake of the country by standing with the people.
In this situation, I call upon the leaders and workers of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, students, teachers, parents, political leaders and activists to deal with the situation with patience. Everyone should be vigilant about the security of the places of worship, houses and properties of different religions. Everyone should be vigilant so that no miscreant can create any kind of untoward situation in the country. We have to move forward to build a beautiful country, society and state unitedly. May Allah help us all. Ameen.
