Acting Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Professor Mujibur Rahman has issued the following statement on 18th October 2023 protesting and condemning Israel’s brutal attack on Gaza’s Al Ahli Arab hospital which killed at least 500 Palestini civilians including kids and nurses and simultaneously urging the global community to take stand for Palestine.
“Israel launched brutal attack on Gaza’s Al Ahli Arab hospital which killed at least 500 Palestini civilians. Such an attack on hospital and subsequent casualties are unprecedented. Entire world is shocked with the incident. The attack left several thousand people injured. Even a neighboring UN-run school came under Israeli air attack which became a shelter for thousands of Palestinians in recent times. No one including women, kids and the old aged are spared from the vicious attack of Israel. The Palestinians are being killed indiscriminately. We are condemning such cowardice attack of the Israeli forces.
Acting Ameer stated that by launching attack on a hospital, Israel has violated all war principles and norms. It is a treachery against the humanity. Targeting a hospital is an act of genocidal terrorism and is despicable.
We are urging the United Nations, OIC, international communities and all the democratic countries of the world to take actions for bringing an end to the Israeli attack and aggression, to find out a solution to the Palestine crisis and also to provide food, medicines and other emergency items. Besides, we are calling upon the humanitarian organization and the states to take a stand for Palestine and the people of Gaza.
I am praying to Allah to accept the great souls as martyrs who have sacrificed their lives for the independence of Palestine. I am praying for the quick recovery of the injured. We are extending our deep sympathy to the Palestinian victim families.
