Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Acting Secretary General Maulana ATM Masum has issued the following statement on 27th January, 2022 protesting and condemning the government’s propaganda saying that Jamaat-e-Islami has appointed a lobbyist in United States.

“It has become a routine work of the government to conduct ill-campaign and false propaganda against Jamaat-e-Islami. Recently, the government has initiated a new campaign saying Jamaat has appointed a lobbyist in USA. Foreign minister has made a statement in the parliament claiming that Jamaat has made such an appointment which is completely false, confusing and politically motivated. Jamaat has not appointed lobbyist in anywhere of the world. Implicating Jamaat, such a story of appointing lobbust is totally untrue. Jamaat has no connection with appointing lobbyist in any place of the world. Jamaat has no branch in foreign nations as well.

The government has become detached from the people because of its failure and misdeeds. People rather wants to know, despite having the office of Bangladesh embassy, official staffs and duties, why the government is appointing staffs in USA by spending millions of dollars? What works are being done by the embassy staffs and officials in USA, the people are also interested to know about it.

Actually, the government is making untrue and irresponsible comments as they became reckless. I am urging the government to stop all types of propaganda against Jamaat-e-Islami including appointing lobbyist in USA immediately.
