Acting Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Maulana ATM Masum has issued the following statement on 21 December, 2021 protesting and condemning the false propaganda and concocted reports which have been published centering the arrest of Narayanganj city Jamaat member Md. Shahab Uddin.

“Police has arrested Narayanganj city Jamaat member Md. Shahab Uddin on last 18th December from Demra of the capital. Regarding his arrest, ASP of RAB-11 subsequently issued a press release which is not correct. He is not a member of any banned outfit. He has no connection with JMB or any other militant organization. He is a member (Rukon) of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami. We are protesting and condemning such false news, propaganda and harassing activities.

I am urging the concerned authorities to stop all harassment and to release Md. Shahab Uddin immediately and unconditionally.
