Central Publicity Affairs Secretary of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and party’s central executive committee member Matiur Rahman Akanda has issued the following statement on 7 December 2021 protesting and gainsaying the report titled “অরাজকতা সৃষ্টির নীলনকশা জামায়াতের” (Jamaat’s blueprint design to create anarchy) in the last page of Bengali daily ‘Janakantha.’

“Whatever has been said in the report titled “অরাজকতা সৃষ্টির নীলনকশা জামায়াতের” (Jamaat’s blueprint design to create anarchy) in the last page of Bengali daily ‘Janakantha’ is totally false, concocted and politically motivated. We are condemning this false news severely.

It has been fictitiously stated in the report that Jamaat has been organizing its leaders, activists, cadres across the country and collecting money from different NGOs from the Middle Eastern countries. All these information is far away from reality and it sounds very weird. This particular reporter had made such false report earlier as well. It is unethical for a journalist to make fabricated report in a bid to confuse the people. These reports are being published in order to tarnish the good image of Jamaat-e-Islami and also to attain ill-political interest.

I am urging the concerned authorities of Daily Janakantha to be refrained from publishing false, concocted and fictitious report against Jamaat-e-Islami in future.
