Acting Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Maulana ATM Masum has issued the following statement on 11 November, 2021 expressing deep shock as at least 5 people killed in a tragic road accident in Trishal of Mymensingh district.

In a road accident which took place in Trishal under Mymensingh district that left 5 people killed and one man critically injured. It is revealed that, a sand-laden truck collided with the auto-rickshaw carrying the victims coming from opposite direction on Trishal-Balipara road at 9:00am on Wednesday. Two men killed on the spot while another 3 died later on while undergoing treatment in a hospital.

I am extending deep sorrow for the deceased of this accident and seeking their salvation. Besides, I am extending sympathy to their mournful families. I am also praying for the quick recovery of the injured who are receiving treatment in hospitals. I am calling upon the authorities to ensure proper medical treatment of the injured.

I am urging the concerned authorities to probe into the accident and to take punitive measures against the persons who were responsible behind this tragic mishap immediately.
