Central Publicity Affairs Secretary of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and party’s central executive committee member Matiur Rahman Akanda has issued the following statement on 23rd October, 2021 protesting and gainsaying the report titled “১৬৪ ধারায় জবানবন্দী দিলেন জামায়াত নেতা” (Jamaat leader gives confessional statement under section 164) published in the last page of the Bengali daily Ittefaq.

“The report titled “১৬৪ ধারায় জবানবন্দী দিলেন জামায়াত নেতা” (Jamaat leader gives confessional statement under section 164) published in the last page of the Bengali daily Ittefaq, which is totally false, concocted and politically motivated. In the said report, the concerned reporter branded one Kamal Uddin Abbasi as a Jamaat leader who actually has no connection with Jamaat-e-Islami. It has become a bad habit of some reporters to implicate Jamaat-e-Islami with every single misdeed even without a minimum scrutiny. We are condemning this false news severely.

I am also urging the authorities of Daily Ittefaq to be refrained from publishing such false news in future.
