Acting Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Maulana ATM Masum has issued the following message of condolence on 16 October 2021 as 7 people including two children, died and at least nine persons suffered injuries when a bus hit a truck parked on the highway in Mymensingh's Trishalupazila this afternoon.

A Mymensingh-bound bus hit a truck, which was parked on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in Chelerghat area, around 2:30pm that killed 7 people including two children, died and injured many others.

I am expressing deep shock for the deceased and seeking the salvation of their departed soul. Besides, I am extending sympathy to their mournful families. I am also praying for the quick recovery of the injured.

I am urging the concerned authorities to find out the real reason behind the accident and to take actions against the responsible personnel. In addition, I am also calling upon the authority to pay due compensation for the victim families and also to take effective measures to ensure proper treatment of the injured.
