Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Secretary General and former lawmaker Professor Mia Golam Porwar has issued the following statement on 28 February 2021 congratulating and hailing the candidates of BNP-Jamaat backed lawyers who contested in various district bar election nationwide.

BNP-Jamaat backed panel candidates have secured victory in different district’s Bar Election. In Dhaka Bar Election Advocate S M Kamal Uddin won as Senior Vice President, whereas Advocate Syed Anwar Hossain secured victory in Chittagong Bar Election as Senior Vice President, Advocate Abu Mohammad Salim won election as Vice President in Rajshahi bar election, Advocate Abul Kalam Siddiqui has been elected as the president of Cox’s Bazar bar Association, Advocate Abdul Wadud Bhuiyan won election as President in Noakhali bar election, Advocate Shahadat Hossain attained victory as President in Laxmipur Bar Election and Advocate Sarkar Kabir Uddin secured victory as Vice President in Tangail Bar election. Besides, a significant number of candidates won in other posts as well. I am congratulating all of them wholeheartedly.

We are expecting that the elected panel will play significant role to establish rule of law, justice and human rights in the country. They will also play positive contribution in maintaining peaceful and congenial atmosphere in the court premises and also to secure public rights.
