Central Executive Committee member of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and party’s central publicity Affairs Secretary Matiur Rahman Akanda has issued the following statement on 13 October 2020 protesting and gainsaying an indecent report titled ‘জামায়াত ধর্ষণের কালো বিড়াল’ (Jamaat, the black cat behind the increasing rape incidents) published in the online news portal ‘Bangla Insider’.

‘The report titled ‘জামায়াত ধর্ষণের কালো বিড়াল’ (Jamaat, the black cat behind the increasing rape incidents) published in the online news portal ‘Bangla Insider’ is far away from actual reality. The concerned reporter has used some offensive, vulgar and impolite language, which is not recognized as a journalistic language at all. The countrymen do not believe a word of said letter, posted from some unrecognized account manipulating the official pad of Jamaat-e-Islami. By relying on this fake letter and concocted report, expressed their extreme level of bankruptcy. I am severely condemning the false, fabricated and indecent report of online news portal ‘Bangla Insider’.

I am urging the authorities of online news portal ‘Bangla Insider’ to be refrained from publishing such untrue, concocted and confusing report in future as it clearly goes against the principle of the free media.
