Central Executive Committee member of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and party’s publicity Affairs Secretary Matiur Rahman Akanda has issued the following statement on 17 August 2020 protesting and gainsaying a report of Bengali daily ‘Kaler Kantha’ titled ‘নিবন্ধিত দলে কর্মী ঢোকাচ্ছে জামায়াত’ (Jamaat lets its activists to get in various registered political parties).

“Whatever is said in the aforesaid report is false, concocted and fictitious. It is nothing but a manipulated story of the concerned reporter. The report referred to a source of the intelligence agency and alleged telephonic conversation but failed to specify it. The reporter in his report also admitted that, the concerned Jamaat leaders and the cited political parties both have denied his claim. This confession has turned his report into a contradictory story.

We want to assert that, Jamaat-e-Islami is an Islamic ideological party. Jamaat-e-Islami creates and promotes activists based on this ideology. Jamaat does not make any effort just only for political interest. There is no chance of entering party activists into other organization. So, the entire story which is stated in the ‘Kaler Kantha’ report is totally illogical, unrealistic and ill-motivated.

We are urging the concerned authorities of Daily Kaler Kantha to be refrained from publishing such false, manipulated, wrongly motivated and fictitious report in future.
